We are seeking a dynamic Perinatal Program Assistant who excels in providing excellent service and thrives in a complex environment. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for doula volunteers, referrals, and various programs representing UC San Diego Health with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency. The Perinatal Program Assistant will perform essential administrative tasks to support the programmatic and educational needs of the perinatal nursing departments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate onboarding processes.
  • Managing scheduling and calendaring for various programs, meetings, and events.
  • Scheduling division-specific training classes.
  • Coordinate administrative tasks to support specialty programs.
  • Greet and assist clients with a welcoming attitude, ensuring each person feels valued.
  • Address and resolve client inquiries or issues with patience and professionalism.

This role provides essential support for staff education, doula volunteer support, and specialty program coordination.

  • Experience in community outreach and/or marketing.

  • Experience in working with multicultural teams and understanding the unique challenges faced by different communities.

  • Ability to anticipate client/program needs and proactively address concerns.

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office systems.

  • Skill at prioritizing multiple and conflicting demands.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.

  • BLS/CPR certification.
  • Training in health equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Experience as a birth doula or related experience in maternity care.
  • Experience with database entry and scheduling.
  • Experience in HR or volunteer management.
  • Experience in the development of written outreach, training or promotional materials.
  • Bilingual.
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $48,045 - $59,759 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $23.01 - $28.62

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
